Privacy

No accounts, no cookies

Critter Daily's games don't ask who you are and don't use cookies. Your guesses stay on your device; all that leaves it are the anonymous counts and scores below.

What stays on your device

Each game keeps your progress, stats and settings (like metric or US units) in your own browser's storage, so you can come back to today's game and keep your streak. Clearing your browser's data for this site erases them.

Fonts

The pages load their fonts (Fredoka and Nunito) from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them, as it does on many websites. See Google Fonts' privacy notes.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which, like any web host, sees the requests your browser makes. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Counting visits and games

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami, neither of which uses cookies or follows you from site to site. They note which pages are viewed, the site that linked here, the kind of browser and device, the country and how fast the pages load, and for the games, when one is started, finished or shared, with its score. None of it identifies you. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami's privacy policy.

How everyone did

When you finish a day's game, its score (and nothing else about your game) goes to Critter Daily's own small database on Cloudflare, so the results can show how everyone did that day. So that each connection counts once a day, the score is kept with a code scrambled from your connection's address, a secret and the date, which can't be turned back into the address or matched from one day to the next. Practice rounds aren't sent.
